Maybelline Colossal Kohl Pencils - Why we still love them?

It has been years since Maybelline launched the Colossal line which included some incredible products that gained much popularity among the ladies. And one such product was the Maybelline Colossal Kohl pencils which came in 4 shades. This is not a review of the much loved kohl pencils but just a glimpse of why we loved it so much and will still continue loving them.

When I first bought Jewelled Jade, I was still in college. The colour, the formula, the price made me smitten to this even more. I have repurchased the same shade along with Crushed Emerald and Smoked Silver about 4 months back. Maybelline has recently come up with the Lasting Drama Eyestudio Gel Liner Pencils (the shades and the formula are bang on) but I still feel the Colossal Kohl pencils have a special place in our hearts as one of the earlier used coloured kohl pencils.

Maybelline Colossal Kohl Pencils

Why we loved them?
  • Shades: Apart from Black, there are 4 more shades, Crushed Emerald, Jewelled Jade, Turquoise and Smoked Silver
  • Price: 249 INR. They are truly affordable. (Nykaa sells two pencils for 249 INR)
  • Formula: It requires no tugging and is very smooth to apply
  • Pigmentation: Beautiful colour pay off in just one swipe
  • Style of pencil: Retractable and thus freeing us from sharpening after every 2-3 uses
  • Staying Power: Stays easily up to 8 hours on oily lids
  • Quantity: 0.35 grams

Swatch Time!!!

Left to Right:
Crushed Emerald, Smoked Silver, Jewelled Jade

Crushed Emerald: A beautiful green with subtle shine to it.
Smoked Silver: More of a grey with blue undertones.
Jewelled Jade: A greenish blue.

Presently I have 3 of these and I use them every alternate day. I typically use them when I want to use some eye shadow but my stringent schedule doesn't allow to do so. Although the range has limited shades yet my love for these will perpetuate for a long long time.

The cap is a transparent one and had all the details of the product stuck in it.   Wet n Wild Color Icon Kohl Liner Pencil - Simma Brown Now   Quantity: 1.4 grams Price: INR 135   Ingredients List: Beeswax/Cire d’abeille, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de carnauba, Ceresin, Petrolatum, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, Mica, Chromium Oxide Greens/CI 77288, Iron Oxides/CI 77491, CI 77499.   Swatches!! (Left: 1 swipe     Right: 3 swipes)   Review: Would you be in shock if I say that I use this kohl pencil as a brow pencil? I seriously do it. The texture is waxy enough to be used as a brow pencil. It isn't the smoothest kajal pencil but better than those which crumble on account of their softness. Hence, I use it

Suncros Aquagel SPF 26 Review

Hello everyone. Today I'm going to review a sunscreen which is the Suncros Aquagel Sunscreen with spf 26. Of late I am only using products that are paraben free. As most of you know, paraben is a class of compounds that are used in cosmetics as a preservative. Although parabens help to keep our makeup and skin care products bacteria free, however it is said cause hormonal disturbance in our body. Hence, I prefer to be on the safer  side. I have used sunscreens from Lakme, Lotus, Khadi, Neutrogena and they all contain paraben. The Khadi sunscreen claims to be paraben free but I don't like its texture. On much research and consultation with a dermatologist I came across Suncros sunscreen. Suncros Aquagel Spf 26 Now, Suncros has many variants of sunscreens. You can find both cream and gel formulae sunscreens. Although this one has the term "gel"  in it, but the texture is actually that of a cream.  Packaging:   The sunscreen comes in a cubical c
