Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara

Hi everyone! I am yet again reviewing another product from Essence. I have been waiting too long to review this mascara. This is the third consecutive Essence product that I will be reviewing. It is the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara that I'm reviewing today. Not many people in India talk about this mascara so I've decided to put up my views on it. Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara Packaging: The Essence Lash Princess Mascara (washable) comes is long, black tube with green detailing on it. I must say, the packaging is too attractive. The bristles on the wand are short and the wand has a tapered tip. The packaging! Ingredients List: Not mentioned. Quantity: 12ml Price: 449 INR The wand! Review: I have short and sparse eye lashes. The mascara has a thick formula which barely has any fragrance. The wand is suitable to be used on both the upper lashes as well as the lower lashes. It is a washable mascara and st...

Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've reviewed a product and today I'm going to review the Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in the shade Ms Moneypenny. I was searching for a nude eye pencil and chose to purchase this one. The reason being: Essence is an underrated brand in India. So let's see how this has been performing so far. Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil: Ms Moneypenny Packaging: It is a retractable, colour coded pencil with details mentioned in silver. Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil Ingredients List: Not mentioned. Quantity: 0.28 gram Price: 249 INR Reveiw: I initially bought Ms Moneypenny for using it on my waterline. But little did I know that it was shimmery. However, I've used it on my waterline and haven't faced any inconvenience in doing so, in terms of irritation. The colour is rose gold. It glides smoothly and is very pigmented. It is smudge proof and water proof once it dries. On my waterline it lasts for 4...

Miss Claire Orange Corrector/Concealer

It's review time again. Due to my increasing dark circles, I bought an orange corrector to diminish/hide them. Clinique, NYX, LA Girl, Kryolan and many other brands have orange corrector. I intended to buy the Kryolan one but they have increased the price of the 4 grams pot from 350 INR to 750 INR (I inquired in some stores at New Market). So finally I bought the Miss Claire one. I wasn't too keen on getting it as I know most of the Miss Claire products contain parabens; to my sweet surprise, this didn't. Packaging:  The corrector comes in a small, transparent, acrylic pot with a black cap. The pot is compact and travel friendly. Packaging of Miss Claire Orange Corrector Ingredients List: Ingredients List Quantity:  6 grams Price:  250 INR The product! Review:  The first thing you will notice on opening the pot is that it is too orange but on blending it becomes a light orange more with yellow undertones. Since this has a strong ...

Inglot Freedom System Concealer - MW100

Review time. And this time it's a concealer. I never used concealers before but after I got this I must say I quite enjoy concealing. Now, there are many budget concealers available in the market but I chose Inglot over most others because I believe Inglot concealers are not too talked about and I wanted to experiment as I have no frame of reference to judge it. I will not say that I'm too happy with the concealer mainly because I chose a wrong shade for concealing (thanks to the SA as well!) and it creases a little when used around the eyes. But it works as a highlighting concealer for me, so that's good. The shade that I got is MW100. Packaging:  Since it is from the Freedom System so it comes in a metal square pan which is meant to be stored in a Z-palette. I don't have a Z-palette so I've stored it in an old compact case. The pan was enclosed in a hard plastic cover which came in a black cardboard box.   The packaging The pan (look at the damag...

Maybelline Colossal Kohl Pencils - Why we still love them?

It has been years since Maybelline launched the Colossal line which included some incredible products that gained much popularity among the ladies. And one such product was the Maybelline Colossal Kohl pencils which came in 4 shades. This is not a review of the much loved kohl pencils but just a glimpse of why we loved it so much and will still continue loving them. When I first bought Jewelled Jade, I was still in college. The colour, the formula, the price made me smitten to this even more. I have repurchased the same shade along with Crushed Emerald and Smoked Silver about 4 months back. Maybelline has recently come up with the Lasting Drama Eyestudio Gel Liner Pencils (the shades and the formula are bang on) but I still feel the Colossal Kohl pencils have a special place in our hearts as one of the earlier used coloured kohl pencils. Maybelline Colossal Kohl Pencils Why we loved them? Shades: Apart from Black, there are 4 more shades, Crushed Emerald, Jewelled Jade, ...

Why I started Colours on the Face!

It's been quite sometime that I've started this blog. If you've taken a little tour on my blog then you would know that this blog contains reviews of makeup products, tips and tricks associated with it and so on so forth. I welcome you to my blog and wish that find the posts helpful and worth the while. Before knowing about my blog, you should know me first. To begin with, my name is Gautami Roy. Professionally, I'm an engineer and I've been working for about a year now. Since I started working, I developed a fascination for makeup. When I was in college I had no idea, whatsoever, about proper makeup (like blending makeup, contouring, etc.); all I had back then was an eyeliner, a brown kohl pencil and a lip balm and I didn't even have a lipstick! I never bothered my parents about buying me makeup but I tried to look decent with my minimal resources and shared my mother's compact, lipstick, etc. Even now, I don't have a huge makeup collection but I try...
