Best Face wash for Oily Skin in India

Here I am today with the best face washes for oily skin or top 5 face washes for oily skin . Indian summers are hot and humid and leaves no chance of peace for oily and combination skinned beauties. So my quest for a face wash apt for my oily skin is always on. Although my skin is pretty oily but my choice of face wash is in accordance to the time of the day I use them or the purpose. Let me explain this way.... When using a face wash is the morning, I prefer it to be one that removes my oil from the core that accumulates over the night. My oil cleansed skin is then pampered by a light day cream followed by a sunscreen I usually don't use face washes at office but when I do I go for a face wash that is removes the oil but doesn't rip the moisture from my face I prefer a face wash that has lemon or orange as an ingredient when I get back home as it helps in de-tanning my face When travelling, I prefer carrying 2 face washes - an anti tanning one and a deep c...

HealthVit Bath & Body Tea Tree Body & Face Cream

Hello lovelies! Today I am reviewing a moisturizer: HealthVit Bath & Body Tea Tree Body & Face Cream. I had purchased this in the month of November anticipating the dry winter to take a toll on my skin. I generally have combination to oily skin all through the year except in the winter. However, this winter my skin was more on the normal side than drier. The only moisturizer that I use, irrespective of the season, is my Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. Despite having oily skin, I really enjoy keeping my skin hydrated as it also helps to check further oil secretion. I came to know about the brand, HealthVit, from Nykaa when I was searching for a facewash, which is indeed a very good facewash. Hence, this brand a rather good impression to me.   HealthVit Bath & Body Tea Tree Body & Face Cream About HealthVit: HealthVit is a part of West-Coast Pharmaceutical Works Ltd. and primarily manufactures natural health and dietary supplements, personal care products, ...

Faces Magneteyes Kajal: Review, Swatch

Hello there! There are many days when an Indian woman, even after getting late, will not skip her kajal. It is rather an essential. Personally, I am not a fan of a stark black kajal but I always prefer brown; be it a simple line or a smokey eyes brown is my colour. In the past, I have used Lakme Eyeconic and Maybelline Colossal kajal but neither of them succeeded to impress me in terms of wear time or pigmentation. Hence, my liking for brown increased forever more. However, about a month back, I had a whim of giving black kajal another try and hence was in search for an affordable kajal available in India. So I researched and stumbled upon Faces Magneteyes Kajal which is an affordable kajal and also very pigmented. The packaging! Packaging: The kajal comes in a retractable red barrel (quite appealing to me). This kajal comes in a cardboard package (which I have already discarded). Quantity: 0.35 grams Twist up pen! Price: 175 INR Review: I love the pigme...

Miss Claire Orange Corrector/Concealer

It's review time again. Due to my increasing dark circles, I bought an orange corrector to diminish/hide them. Clinique, NYX, LA Girl, Kryolan and many other brands have orange corrector. I intended to buy the Kryolan one but they have increased the price of the 4 grams pot from 350 INR to 750 INR (I inquired in some stores at New Market). So finally I bought the Miss Claire one. I wasn't too keen on getting it as I know most of the Miss Claire products contain parabens; to my sweet surprise, this didn't. Packaging:  The corrector comes in a small, transparent, acrylic pot with a black cap. The pot is compact and travel friendly. Packaging of Miss Claire Orange Corrector Ingredients List: Ingredients List Quantity:  6 grams Price:  250 INR The product! Review:  The first thing you will notice on opening the pot is that it is too orange but on blending it becomes a light orange more with yellow undertones. Since this has a strong ...

How to get rid of body odour in summers?

It's summer time and so it is body odour time. However, body odour may be a perennial issue for some people. I follow 3 simple steps to keep body odour at bay all throughout the year. 1. Take bath at least twice in a day: This is so important for everyone. Not only the working people should follow this, but also the stay at home people should do the same. Bathing helps to refresh ourselves in the most simple way and also helps us get rid of the germs and dirt that adheres to our skin. 2. Stop using deodorants and use lemon juice instead: I know this sounds ridiculous but let me tell you, I have stopped using deodorants in my underarms for about a year, instead I use lemon juice which has resulted in 3 good things - i) underarms are not that dark anymore ii) body odour problem has decreased considerably and it makes me feel fresh all day long iii) growth of underarm hair has been stunted. For application of lemon juice, I slice a wedge of lemon and rub it on my undera...

Top 3 ways to remove tan naturally

No amount of sunscreen can ever prevent 100% tanning; even the more expensive ones fails to do so. This holds true for me as well as many other girls out there. That's why I have come up with 3 ways you can remove your tan. I have been using these 3 methods for years and they are very effective indeed. So here's the solution:- 1. Cucumber juice:  How to make it? I use a mixer to crush a cucumber and strain the juice. That's it. How to apply?   I apply it on my face, hands and neck and let it dry for 5 minutes followed by reapplying it and drying it again. Then I wash it off with water. Is it effective? YES. This gives instant results. Cucumber juice not only removes tan in the most efficient way possible but also tones our skin. Cucumber Juice 2. Honey and lemon juice: How to make it? Squeeze a lemon and add 1 tea spoon of honey. You can also add sugar instead of honey. How to apply? I apply this concoction on my face and other ...

Three things I apply on my face before going out in the sun

It's essential to treat our skin well before heading out in the scorching summer sun. And since summer has hit hard and early this time, so here are my essentials that I apply on my face before I go out in the summers. 1. An Ice cube: Surprised? Well, if you rub an ice cube on your face it controls perspiration or sweating. After you rub an ice cube, gently use a towel to soak the excess water and then wait for about a minute before you follow the second step. 2. Moisturizer: Please don't skip this step whatsoever, even if you have oily skin. I myself have oily skin and I always make sure to apply a pea-size amount of moisturizer every single day. I use Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion as it's very light yet moisturizes the skin very well. 3. Sunscreen: Last but not the least (rather the most important), sunscreen is a must all around the year and not just only in summers. My go to sunscreen in the summers is the Suncote Sunscreen with SPF 30. The Ice cu...

Why I started Colours on the Face!

It's been quite sometime that I've started this blog. If you've taken a little tour on my blog then you would know that this blog contains reviews of makeup products, tips and tricks associated with it and so on so forth. I welcome you to my blog and wish that find the posts helpful and worth the while. Before knowing about my blog, you should know me first. To begin with, my name is Gautami Roy. Professionally, I'm an engineer and I've been working for about a year now. Since I started working, I developed a fascination for makeup. When I was in college I had no idea, whatsoever, about proper makeup (like blending makeup, contouring, etc.); all I had back then was an eyeliner, a brown kohl pencil and a lip balm and I didn't even have a lipstick! I never bothered my parents about buying me makeup but I tried to look decent with my minimal resources and shared my mother's compact, lipstick, etc. Even now, I don't have a huge makeup collection but I try...

Welcome to Colours On The Face

Hello to all my readers! Thank you so much for stopping by. I am Gautami and this is going to be my first ever blogpost and this blog is dedicated for matters relating to beauty and lifestyle. I am no expert in either of the two spheres mentioned but I have this penchant towards beauty as well as lifestyle. I believe that before saying anything else I must introduce myself. Well, you would know my name already if you haven't skipped the initial lines of this post. Nevertheless, I am Gautami Roy and I am a Biomedical Engineer. For a while I am going to follow this profession but I am quite sure that it won't be too long that I can see myself taking up some other job. I am basically a whimsical person; a friend of mine always says that I'm unpredictable - nobody knows my next move, neither do I. Other adjectives that can describe me well are insane, lazy, spontaneous, loving and caring (only for specific people though), short-tempered. So if you see anything random in...
