Why I started Colours on the Face!

It's been quite sometime that I've started this blog. If you've taken a little tour on my blog then you would know that this blog contains reviews of makeup products, tips and tricks associated with it and so on so forth. I welcome you to my blog and wish that find the posts helpful and worth the while.

Before knowing about my blog, you should know me first. To begin with, my name is Gautami Roy. Professionally, I'm an engineer and I've been working for about a year now. Since I started working, I developed a fascination for makeup. When I was in college I had no idea, whatsoever, about proper makeup (like blending makeup, contouring, etc.); all I had back then was an eyeliner, a brown kohl pencil and a lip balm and I didn't even have a lipstick! I never bothered my parents about buying me makeup but I tried to look decent with my minimal resources and shared my mother's compact, lipstick, etc. Even now, I don't have a huge makeup collection but I try to use products in different ways.

So the first ever makeup item that I bought for myself was a Makeup Revolution single eye shadow called Smokin 2. Now, by then I was watching YouTube videos and following many vloggers and bloggers and even professional makeup artists. Eventually, I found that there are many chemicals that are used in makeup products which can cause some serious damage to our skin. I am not blessed with an impeccable skin and so I didn't want to further ruin my skin. Chemicals like parabens, phthalates, mineral oil and so on are found not only in makeup products but also in skin care products. Most of the affordable makeup and skincare products contain these chemicals. My first ever bought eye shadow too contained paraben, to my despair, and finally it's use was ceased.

Then onward, I became picky about makeup and even skincare. I now resort to my dermatologist for my skincare and mostly to my mother because of her innumerable tips and tricks (which I will share with you gradually).

Now why did I start this blog? The reason is pretty simple, I want women to use safer cosmetics. Well, it might sound absurd but with little awareness we can protect our skin in this world of obnoxious chemicals not only found in cosmetics but also in our environment. So, I am in constant search for "good" makeup or skincare items that are affordable as well. I love sharing things which I genuinely like and I will continue doing so. I still have a few items in my vanity which contain parabens and phthalates but I will never promote such products on my blog.

I am no expert but only a novice and to conclude, I will always try to talk about some of the better products available and share my views about it. Since through this blog I will be able to reach out to so many women (and men), so I would also like to know your views in this regard and through your valuable inputs others (and also me) can benefit from it.

Finally, thank you for visiting my blog and spread the message of love and kindness...!

HealthVit Bath & Body Tea Tree Body & Face Cream

Hello lovelies! Today I am reviewing a moisturizer: HealthVit Bath & Body Tea Tree Body & Face Cream. I had purchased this in the month of November anticipating the dry winter to take a toll on my skin. I generally have combination to oily skin all through the year except in the winter. However, this winter my skin was more on the normal side than drier. The only moisturizer that I use, irrespective of the season, is my Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. Despite having oily skin, I really enjoy keeping my skin hydrated as it also helps to check further oil secretion. I came to know about the brand, HealthVit, from Nykaa when I was searching for a facewash, which is indeed a very good facewash. Hence, this brand a rather good impression to me.   HealthVit Bath & Body Tea Tree Body & Face Cream About HealthVit: HealthVit is a part of West-Coast Pharmaceutical Works Ltd. and primarily manufactures natural health and dietary supplements, personal care products, ...

Faces Magneteyes Dramatic Volumizing Mascara - Review, Swatches

Hey everyone! I am writing down after ages. So I am starting anew with reviewing a mascara. Thank you so much if you're a returning reader. Cheers! Well, I believe, mascara is one independent component of makeup which pretty much turns around the whole look. These short shelf-lived warriors are must-haves and definitely be replaced every six months. And for that very reason, I rely on affordable ones. With so many brands now being available at our fingertips, across multiple channels, buyers are challenged to pick the best ones for themselves. Maybelline and Essence are known for their excellent collections of mascaras and influencers make us buy them. Today I'm sharing a lesser-known mascara from Faces Canada. It is from the range of Magneteyes. While I'm a big-time fan of the Faces Magneteyes Kajal , I had to try the Faces Magneteyes Mascara as well. Packaging: It is red a tube and has no non-sense packaging. The wand is pretty fat and has synthetic bristles, ...
