Miss Claire Orange Corrector/Concealer

It's review time again. Due to my increasing dark circles, I bought an orange corrector to diminish/hide them. Clinique, NYX, LA Girl, Kryolan and many other brands have orange corrector. I intended to buy the Kryolan one but they have increased the price of the 4 grams pot from 350 INR to 750 INR (I inquired in some stores at New Market). So finally I bought the Miss Claire one. I wasn't too keen on getting it as I know most of the Miss Claire products contain parabens; to my sweet surprise, this didn't.

Packaging:
The corrector comes in a small, transparent, acrylic pot with a black cap. The pot is compact and travel friendly.

The product!

Review:
The first thing you will notice on opening the pot is that it is too orange but on blending it becomes a light orange more with yellow undertones. Since this has a strong yellow undertone, so it is suitable for Indian skin tone. Girls with dusky skin tone can use this corrector all by itself and a compact powder  on top of it for better coverage. The texture of the corrector is smooth and light but is extremely drying around the eyes. Hence, a good eye cream or a moisturizer is a must in the prepping step of our makeup. Coverage wise it is good and pigmentation is just about right. For blending, I believe, nothing beats your fingers and I use my fingers for blending and a damp makeup sponge to get a seamless finish.

Top: Corrector before blending
Bottom: Corrector after blending

Pros:
  • Good pigmentation and good coverage
  • Doesn't look orange when completely blended
  • Affordable
  • Good staying power (about 5 hours)
  • Paraben free
Cons:
  • Not fragrance free
  • Extremely drying
  • If you rub the product (shouldn't do this though) the texture becomes weird
  • It's not hygienic to dig out the product every time from the tub

Final Verdict:
3.5/5. This is my first corrector and I have no reference to compare it to. So for me it fares really well and it is inexpensive. If you are a beginner, you may start your corrector game with this.
P.S. - I use this with the Inglot Freedom System Concealer in MW100 for concealing my blemishes.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Kohl Liner Pencil - Simma Brown Now

Packaging:   It ha s colour-coded packaging and hence brown in colour. It is a very long pencil (it might last me for a decade) that needs to be sharpened after 4-5 uses. The cap is a transparent one and had all the details of the product stuck in it.   Wet n Wild Color Icon Kohl Liner Pencil - Simma Brown Now   Quantity: 1.4 grams Price: INR 135   Ingredients List: Beeswax/Cire d’abeille, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de carnauba, Ceresin, Petrolatum, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, Mica, Chromium Oxide Greens/CI 77288, Iron Oxides/CI 77491, CI 77499.   Swatches!! (Left: 1 swipe     Right: 3 swipes)   Review: Would you be in shock if I say that I use this kohl pencil as a brow pencil? I seriously do it. The texture is waxy enough to be used as a brow pencil. It isn't the smoothest kajal pencil but better than those which crumble o...

Faces Magneteyes Dramatic Volumizing Mascara - Review, Swatches

Hey everyone! I am writing down after ages. So I am starting anew with reviewing a mascara. Thank you so much if you're a returning reader. Cheers! Well, I believe, mascara is one independent component of makeup which pretty much turns around the whole look. These short shelf-lived warriors are must-haves and definitely be replaced every six months. And for that very reason, I rely on affordable ones. With so many brands now being available at our fingertips, across multiple channels, buyers are challenged to pick the best ones for themselves. Maybelline and Essence are known for their excellent collections of mascaras and influencers make us buy them. Today I'm sharing a lesser-known mascara from Faces Canada. It is from the range of Magneteyes. While I'm a big-time fan of the Faces Magneteyes Kajal , I had to try the Faces Magneteyes Mascara as well. Packaging: It is red a tube and has no non-sense packaging. The wand is pretty fat and has synthetic bristles, ...

Suncros Aquagel SPF 26 Review

Hello everyone. Today I'm going to review a sunscreen which is the Suncros Aquagel Sunscreen with spf 26. Of late I am only using products that are paraben free. As most of you know, paraben is a class of compounds that are used in cosmetics as a preservative. Although parabens help to keep our makeup and skin care products bacteria free, however it is said cause hormonal disturbance in our body. Hence, I prefer to be on the safer  side. I have used sunscreens from Lakme, Lotus, Khadi, Neutrogena and they all contain paraben. The Khadi sunscreen claims to be paraben free but I don't like its texture. On much research and consultation with a dermatologist I came across Suncros sunscreen. Suncros Aquagel Spf 26 Now, Suncros has many variants of sunscreens. You can find both cream and gel formulae sunscreens. Although this one has the term "gel"  in it, but the texture is actually that of a cream.  Packaging:   The sunscreen comes in a cubical ...
