Island Kiss Tropique Pomade: Puerto Berry Blush

Hi guys. Hope everyone is doing well. It's already summer in Kolkata and I'm not enjoying the scorching sun. And today I'm going to tell you about a product which I bought 2 months back and have been putting it to test since. It is a tinted lip balm basically and it's from a brand called Island Kiss. I had bought it from Amazon at 50% discount mainly because I had to add something to my cart to avail free shipping. And honestly, I would not have bought this product if it were not on sale. But I quite like it now. So here's the review.

Packaging: Well, honestly, the packaging is absolutely beautiful. The colour of the cardboard box corresponds to the colour of the product. It is in the form of a squeezy tube. I had no idea about the packaging before I got it and it's brilliant. And yes, the tube came in cardboard box withing another box. They've put a lot of thought in packaging.

Box within a box!

Review: The texture of this lip balm is like an oil (light weight) and it has a fragrance (actually smells like castor oil) but it's not to overpowering. It has a pink tint. During the winter, it wasn't too moisturizing but it stained my lips well. I used to apply at night and in the morning I found my lips having a pink tint which I really enjoyed. For me, this is essentially a lip balm for summer as it is very light and the moisturizing power is just about right. It stays for not more than 2 hours (without food) but the tint remains forever (even with eating/drinking). It works as a good liquid lipstick remover.

Lip Swatch

Pros:
  • It is completely organic
  • Has spf 15
  • Beautiful pink tint
  • Light weight and not too greasy
  • Cruelty free
  • Petroleum free

Cons:
  • Low moisturizing power
  • Expensive for a lip balm
  • Fragrance might be an issue for some
  • Low staying power and needs to be reapplied often
  • Tube needs to be shaken before use

Final Verdict: 3/5. If you are looking for a light weight, somewhat moisturizing and good tinted lip balm then it's good otherwise it is not worth the money. So it's somewhere in between.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Kohl Liner Pencil - Simma Brown Now

Packaging:   It ha s colour-coded packaging and hence brown in colour. It is a very long pencil (it might last me for a decade) that needs to be sharpened after 4-5 uses. The cap is a transparent one and had all the details of the product stuck in it.   Wet n Wild Color Icon Kohl Liner Pencil - Simma Brown Now   Quantity: 1.4 grams Price: INR 135   Ingredients List: Beeswax/Cire d’abeille, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de carnauba, Ceresin, Petrolatum, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, Mica, Chromium Oxide Greens/CI 77288, Iron Oxides/CI 77491, CI 77499.   Swatches!! (Left: 1 swipe     Right: 3 swipes)   Review: Would you be in shock if I say that I use this kohl pencil as a brow pencil? I seriously do it. The texture is waxy enough to be used as a brow pencil. It isn't the smoothest kajal pencil but better than those which crumble on account of their softness. Hence, I use it

Suncros Aquagel SPF 26 Review

Hello everyone. Today I'm going to review a sunscreen which is the Suncros Aquagel Sunscreen with spf 26. Of late I am only using products that are paraben free. As most of you know, paraben is a class of compounds that are used in cosmetics as a preservative. Although parabens help to keep our makeup and skin care products bacteria free, however it is said cause hormonal disturbance in our body. Hence, I prefer to be on the safer  side. I have used sunscreens from Lakme, Lotus, Khadi, Neutrogena and they all contain paraben. The Khadi sunscreen claims to be paraben free but I don't like its texture. On much research and consultation with a dermatologist I came across Suncros sunscreen. Suncros Aquagel Spf 26 Now, Suncros has many variants of sunscreens. You can find both cream and gel formulae sunscreens. Although this one has the term "gel"  in it, but the texture is actually that of a cream.  Packaging:   The sunscreen comes in a cubical c
